Optimal Portfolio Selection Methodology for a Demand Response Aggregator

This paper presents a methodology for determining the optimal portfolio allocation demand response aggregator. The formulation is based on Day-Ahead electricity prices, in which aggregator coordinates set of residential consumers that are recruited through contracts. Four types contracts analyzed, considering both direct and indirect programs. objective to compare different scenarios contract portfolios order establish benefits each market agent. An optimization problem formulated capture interactions between end consumers. model as mathematical program with equilibrium constraints: At upper level, maximizes its benefits, whereas lower level represents consumers’ By applying developed methodology, characterization behavior established forecast their responses generation punctual incentives, usual peak events, well evaluate impact control have performance energy price varies.
